Football team news

Crystal Palace team: Henderson; Ward Andersen, Lerma; Muñoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Eze, Mateta, Ayew.

Subs: Matthews, Tomkins, Clyne, Schlupp, Ozoh, Ahamada, Umeh, Olise, Edouard.

Manchester City team: Ortega Moreno, Lewis, Stones, Dias, Gvardiol, Rodrigo, De Bruyne, Bobb, Alvarez, Grealish, Haaland

Subs: Ederson, Kovacic, Doku, Bernardo, Gomez, Akanji, Nunes, Foden, Susoho

Olise returns to the match day squad

Crystal Palace keep the lineup that faced Bournemouth earlier this week, but with Michael Olise available again, albeit starting from the bench. Olise’s return to the squad comes after a period sidelined due to a hamstring issue he aggravated during a match at Brighton in early February. He and Jean-Philippe Mateta, who previously contributed to Palace’s notable draw against Man City with their goals, are ready for action. Today, Mateta is spearheading Palace’s attack.

Haaland and KDB start

Regarding Manchester City’s lineup, Pep Guardiola has shuffled his starting eleven following their victory over Aston Villa, sidelining Phil Foden despite his recent standout performance. Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne are reintegrated into the starting lineup. John Stones is back on the field for City, marking his return after a groin injury sustained on international duty, replacing Manuel Akanji. Additionally, Oscar Bobb steps in for Bernardo Silva in the midfield, with Jeremy Doku also being rotated out. Goalkeeper Ederson is among the substitutes, making a comeback to the squad after overcoming a thigh injury.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City in the Premier League kicks off at Selhurst Park at 12:30 BST on Saturday 6th April 2024.
